When is Redding Garden of Lights happening?

The Redding Garden of Lights will be open to the public from November 22, 2024, through January 5, 2025. Come experience the magic Wednesday through Sunday, from 5 to 9 pm, with the last entry at 8:30pm. Please note that we will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. Additionally, a special ticketed event will be held on New Year’s Eve; tickets will be available soon. Don't miss out on this sparkling holiday tradition!

The Redding Garden of Lights showcases over two million lights across 10 acres of beautifully curated botanical gardens, featuring stunning animated displays and festive installations. Guests can enjoy fire pits with s’mores, holiday-themed food and beverages, synchronized music animations, and much more.

The journey begins with a stroll across the iconic Sundial Bridge, spanning the Sacramento River, leading you to the garden entrance and courtyard where festive food and drinks await. Wander through winding paths, immerse yourself in the light displays, take memorable photos, and experience the magic of the season!

Although the Garden of Lights is a ticketed event, the iconic Sundial Bridge and the scenic Sacramento River Trail remain open and free for the public to explore throughout the year.

Who operates the Redding Garden of Lights?

Turtle Bay Exploration Park is the proud owner and operator of the Redding Garden of Lights. As a nonprofit organization, Turtle Bay relies on funds raised to support its wide range of programs, including educational initiatives, garden maintenance, museum exhibits, wildlife care, and more. Every visit to the Redding Garden of Lights helps sustain the park’s mission to inspire curiosity, promote learning, and preserve the natural world for future generations. Who designed the Redding Garden of Lights displays?

The Redding Garden of Lights was designed by Tres Fromme Design, a leading designer in botanical gardens and seasonal displays with over 15 years of experience. 

Will there be food and beverages available?

The Redding Garden of Lights will feature a delicious variety of food and beverages for all ages, provided by Mosaic Restaurant. Enjoy a wood-fired pizza, a bowl of tomato soup, a hearty pot roast sandwiched, as well as other selections. indulge in a sweet treat like a bag of kettle corn or grab a s'mores kit to roast over our pit fires in the Magical Mosaic area. Warm up with a hot chocolate or coffee, or sip on a refreshing soda or water. For those looking for something a bit stronger, unique holiday cocktails will also be available.

Whether you're in the mood for savory comfort food or a sweet indulgence, there's something for everyone to enjoy as you explore the magical light displays.

What are Flex Tickets?

Standard Garden of Lights tickets are designated for specific nights, but Flex Tickets offer added flexibility. If weather or unforeseen circumstances affect your plans, Flex Tickets give you the opportunity to change your visit to a different night. With a one-time change option, you can easily adjust your date. Will the Redding Garden of Lights be closed due to rain?

The Redding Garden of Lights is a rain-or-shine event, so it will not close due to weather. Please note that refunds are not provided for weather-related reasons.

Where do I Park? Is Parking Free?

Yes, parking is free in our regular parking lot, located just across the Sundial Bridge. From there, you’ll enjoy a scenic walk across the bridge to reach the entrance of the Redding Garden of Lights.

For added convenience, we also offer a Premium Ticket Package, which includes access to the exclusive West Gate parking lot. This lot is closer to the event entrance and available only to Premium Ticket holders.

Are group tickets available for Redding Garden of Lights?

Yes, groups of 75 or more may purchase tickets at a discounted rate. In addition to savings, group bookings provide a fantastic opportunity to experience the Redding Garden of Lights together, making it ideal for large groups or corporate holiday celebrations. How long is the Redding Garden of Lights?

From the parking lot, you'll take a scenic walk across the Sundial Bridge, leading to the entrance of the Botanical Gardens. Once inside, you'll explore a dazzling mile-long loop through 10 acres of illuminated gardens, filled with festive lights and holiday cheer.

Is the Redding Garden of Lights wheelchair and stroller accessible? Are wheelchairs available for customers?

Yes! The Redding Garden of Lights is wheelchair and stroller accessible. The pathways are made of flat, even gravel, making it easy for all guests to enjoy the festive lights and displays.

Wheelchairs are available for use during your visit to the Redding Garden of Lights. Simply request one at the front gate, located just across the Sundial Bridge.

To borrow a wheelchair, you will need to leave a valid ID with Guest Services while using it. Wheelchairs are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend arriving early for your convenience.

Are there senior discounts or EBT discounts available to purchase tickets?

The Redding Garden of Lights does not offer senior or EBT discounts, but we have Value Nights on select dates to make the event more accessible to everyone. Additionally, Turtle Bay Members receive a $5 discount on tickets.

Are pets allowed at Redding Garden of Lights?

Except for service dogs, pets are not allowed inside the Redding Garden of Lights event. Dogs are permitted outside of the event on the Sundial Bridge and surrounding Sacramento River Trail.
